MAB Partners LLP provides tax, accounting, and advisory services to businesses and individuals in the Greater Toronto Area. We are a team of Chartered Professional Accountants (Chartered Accountants) with an aim to provide “big firm” quality with the personalized service of a smaller boutique firm.
Massimo Brutto CPA, CA, CFP PARTNER
Massimo co-founded MAB Partners LLP to create a firm that provides high quality professional services to owner-managed businesses, professionals and their families. Massimo’s practice is focused on tax planning, tax filing & compliance, corporate structure planning and reorganizations, business acquisition and disposition support, as well as estate planning. In addition, Massimo works with CPA Canada and CPA Ontario to provide professional training and mentoring to CPA students entering the accounting profession.
Massimo began his career in 2003 with Ernst & Young LLP, a global professional services firm, where he provided tax and audit services to clients in a variety of industries including financial services, real estate, health care, manufacturing, and retail. Massimo also held several positions within First Service Corp., a Canadian public corporation, where he was responsible for the financial management of a portfolio of companies generating over $400 million in annual revenues. Massimo is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Massimo holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction (Specialist in Commerce & Finance and Major in Economics) from the University of Toronto.
Monika Malachowska CPA, CA, CFP PARTNER
Monika draws from over 20 years of tax and accounting experience to provide customized solutions to a variety of clients including medical practitioners, lawyers, entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and IT consultants.
Monika is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants “In-Depth Tax Course”, Canada’s leading education program for tax practitioners. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Economics from the University of Toronto.
Monika began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (“PwC”) where she worked with high net worth individuals and privately held corporations in the tax, advisory and audit practices. Prior to joining MAB Partners LLP, Monika led the implementation of a multi-million dollar private equity accounting and management system for Brookfield Asset Management, a global asset manager focused on property, power and infrastructure assets.
Pamela Oiye CPA, CA, PRINCIPAL (Retired)
Pamela received her CPA designation in November 2013 when they were conferred as part of Ontario Chartered Accountants merging with CPA Ontario. Pam articled with KPMG and earned her CA designation in 1996. She obtained her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto in 1993.
Pam worked in her own practice from 2001-2015, a span of 14 years, at which point she became a partner at Pinnacle CPAs LLP’s Toronto office. Prior to 2001, Pam worked with top insurance companies and chartered banks - experience that continues to give her valuable business insight for her clients today.
Because Pam has over 20 years’ experience as a designated accountant, this lengthy experience has allowed her to achieve a deep level of “seasoning”, which brings much value to clients.
Pam works closely with owner managers to assist them with tax planning, and to generally work towards maximizing their business’ efficiency.
In her spare time, Pam enjoys a variety of hobbies, such as stand-up paddling, golfing, and Taiko drumming. She is currently studying Japanese, and has a working knowledge of French.
Pam is thrilled to have joined MAB Partners LLP, where she can continue to provide high quality service to clients, to help them achieve the best result possible!
Kevin Oiye CPA, CA, PRINCIPAL (Retired)
Kevin received his CPA designation in November 2013 when they were conferred as part of Ontario Chartered Accountants merging with CPA Ontario. Prior to that, Kevin was a Chartered Accountant, earning his designation in 1981 after obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
Over the past 37 years Kevin has worked in a variety of positions including planning, financial reporting, treasury, lending, collections and payroll, over a number of different industries (banking, insurance, retail mining and chemical processing). In 2012, Kevin joined Pamela Oiye’s accounting practice working with individuals and small businesses assisting them with their accounting and tax planning and preparation needs. Kevin’s years of experience in the “corporate world” have helped to bring a different and very valuable perspective to various client projects.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys a variety of hobbies and pastimes including golfing, standup paddling, gardening and woodworking. He is currently studying Japanese as part of learning more about his heritage, and hopes to travel there sometime in the future.
Kevin is excited to have joined MAB Partners LLP, and he looks forward to continuing to provide the highest level of service he can to clients.
Kateryna Borys, Senior Associate
Kateryna has extensive experience with personal income tax filngs and trust/estate filings. Prior to joining MAB Partners LLP in 2015, she held various tax and accounting roles at KPMG Canada, BDO Canada LLP and AIM Trimark.
Leah Lavrence, CPA, CGA, Manager
Leah has over 10 years of experience in public accounting. She has extensive experience in personal, trust and corporate taxation, Notice to Reader compilations and tax reporting for non-resident real property owners. Leah brings a high level of professionalism and dedication to all of her work. Outside the office, Leah enjoys long distance running and visiting New York City.
Ebrahim Surti, Senior Associate
Ebrahim has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1992. He developed his accounting and tax experience with the Indian subsidiaries of multinational corporations including Pfizer, Reuters, A.P. Moller Maersk and Thomson Reuters. In his most senior roles, he handled the corporate tax function for India and other South Asian countries.
Since moving to Canada in 2010, Ebrahim has focused his learning and experience in Canadian personal and corporate taxation. Ebrahim brings mature competence and irrepressible energy to every client file.
Elizabeth Malachowska, Office Manager
Elizabeth manages the day to day operations of the firm and she is responsible for client communications during personal income tax season. Prior to joining MAB, Elizabeth held various team management roles in the pharmaceutical industry. She uses that experience to help keep the office running smoothly and ensure all deliverables are prepared and submitted on time.
Outside of the office, Elizabeth enjoys reading and spending time with her three granddaughters.
